best firmware to use for jailbreaking iphone 3G???

I have a iphone 3g and want to jailbreak it, i did jailbreak before on 3.0 but found it slow and buggy, would anyone recommend a better version to use. would 2.2.1 would be better??

Well I used Redsn0w and it worked perfect. Remember if if you have 3.0.1 on your phone you still jailbreak with ver. 3.0.0~!!!!!
