    Hi,

I bought an iphone 3G new on boards about 4 months ago...

I have it unlocked with Ultrasn0w etc.

Over the past few days, the battery life has collapsed to two hours and there is a delay recieving texts, together with problems receiving calls.

I have kep the phone in great nic and well guarded, so its obviously an issue that should be covered under warrenty.

Does anyone know if its possible for me to send it directly to apple, despite buying on boards and unlocking?

Do a fresh install of 3.0.1 and don't Jailbreak it. If your not O2, ask a friend for a loan of their SIM for a bit and see if the problems persist with the SMS, calls and battery life.

    And if the problems remain?

enter the serial no. on the apple website to see if its still in warranty. If its not, you will have to pay (a lot) to get it fixed.

If it is in warranty, I can't see how there would be any problem getting it fixed under warranty. U could pay 29 quid to have them deliver you a replacement (will either be refurbished or new) and the courier will take the faulty unit off you.

Then send it back to Apple as it seems to be faulty. As comojo2 said, check the warrenty status on the website.

Yeah I know, but when I checked warranty status:

"Our records indicate this product has not been activated. Learn how to activate your iPhone. Please note that warranty service is not dependent on activating your iPhone. For more information, please contact us.

If you believe that this information is inaccurate, learn how to update your coverage status. Please put your sales receipt in a safe place. You will need it for warranty validation."
