    Hi,

Thinking of buying an E30 325i Sport. Where do the most commonly rust? What engine faults are common with them? How do I know if its a genuine sport?

    Your help is appreciated.

Heads crack as far as I remember.

Rot at this stage is starting to get common. Under the windscreen at the front.

Battery is in the boot, under this, infront of the battery where the petrol filler pipe is.

Lift the rear seats and check for dust in there.

Rear subframe mounts collapse and are a bastard to do.

Love them though, had one for a year as a 2nd car, great fun.

EDIT: Just saw your user name ... they are very hard on rear tyres at that lark due to the camber of the back wheels when lowered

Thanks. It will be a second car for me, bit of a project. Can you tell me by looking at it how do I know its a propper sport?

Genuine sport should have the following:

    -Electric windows and side mirrors
    -M-Tech Steering Wheel
    -Limited Slip Diffirential
    -Green tinted glass (I think)
    -Remote Central Locking
    -Onboard Computer
    -black headlining
    -dechromed exterior window surround

But really you'd need proof from bmw, they'll tell you if you have the vin.
