Not too sure if this is a bargain, a mis-price, or a mis-read on my part,,but I've been looking for a NAS media player and found this last night on play.com (due for release 24th August).

Freecom MediaPlayer II 1.5TB Multimedia NAS

I pre-ordered for a price of €107 with free delivery. Seems an amazing price to me as the Freecom website quotes it around €349. I read through the text about 10 times to make sure I'm not just ordering a wireless adapter, but it looks like the whole package.
Only problem is that it has to be with a UK credit card to the cardholders address. I've attempted to get round that by setting my Entropay address to my parents in England and paying with that (order was accepted).

Anyway, if anyone has an idea why it's priced so cheaply please let me know.

    Andy

    It it really Wireless?

""Simply drag and drop your audio and video files from your PC to the MediaPlayer II, take the portable MediaPlayer II to your living room, connect it to your TVor HiFi and you're ready to go!"

Even if it isn't still looks too good to be true.

Yeah that delayed me for a bit, but it also say "Connects to your network via Ethernet connection (100/10 Mbps)". That and the fact they actually call it a NAS device makes me think it's both wireless and wired. I'm with UPC and have my router behind the tv so wired NAS would be perfect for me.

I still can't get my head round why it's so cheap, unless I'm reading it wrong and it comes without storage??

That's why I've tried with Entropay. If that fails I'll get my brother to order it for me from the UK.

Update: Looks like a debit on my entropay account has been successfully authorised. So as long as you know someone in the UK it seems you can change your address details in entropay and then use that address (with the name "Entropay User") on play.com to get round the UK registered card condition.

Its not a wireless NAS unless you buy the WLAN adaptor.

Freecom is selling the wireless adapter is sold as optional accessory. I doubt that its included in the play.com offer.
