    Hi all,

does anyone know how often the timing belt on an 02 polo should be changed?

I'm looking at a car with 52 000 miles on the clock but the owner isn't too sure if it has been done or not. There doesn't seem to be any markings under the bonnet to suggest it was done...

    Thanks,

    Stephen

Most VWs need the tb changed around the 60,000 mile mark, so I doubt it's been done unless you find evidence on the tb cover.

If it's a 1.2, 3 cylinder engine. It will have a timing chain and shouldn't need to be chained at all.
