I can't speak for economics but once you understand probability and basic stats (just the mean, median and standard deviation I guess is all you do in school) you'll be flying in psychology. The maths itself isn't difficult but you do need to understand what each stats test you'll use does and why/when to use it. Honestly, once you're not failing pass maths and once you don't mind thinking problems through, you have nothing to worry about!

The fact that you know maths is used in psych puts you above a lot of your potential classmates in preparedness.

Edit: The actual course requirement is a pass in honours or pass.

I got an A1 in pass and am doing Economics. Just finished first year, so far no problems. If you're not able to comfortably get an A1 in pass you'll prob find it difficut.

I hated the maths part in economics and even though i got an A in pass i never worked and failed the maths part in first year. Though knuckled down to it in 2nd year and passed. Its fine as long as you spend the time at it, its well taught and well worth going to the tutorials as they are worth marks and helpful to a large extent. As long as you know all the tutorial stuff you should at least past the year. Don't panic!

learn how to spell psychology first! You won't need as much for psychology as for applied psychology

Liquorice, as always, has covered this well. When you said you didn't feel good enough for honours I was worried, as psychology is fairly "mathy", but if you got an A1 at ordinary level you should have no problems whatsoever.

You just need a c3 in pass maths to get into Trinity anyway so you should be fine
