Hey all, so I'm going on my first proper date with a guy I've known for years (we went to school together) and have kissed this guy before, in the past and recently. He invited me to the cinema on Friday night and I'm wondering what to wear, I want to look casual and relaxed but still sexy without looking like I'm trying too hard. Suggestions please!

    Thanks in advance!

Don't get too dressed up for the cinema, but dressed up enough that you can go for a drink after.
I would suggest; blue/black skinny jeans, flats ( pumps or sandals depending on weather), a plain vest top, and long boyfriend cardigan.
    Enjoy:)

I was at late night show at cinema a few weeks ago and some of the girls were really dressed up.

I would go with Skinny jeans, heels and like above a plain top and long line cardigan, with nice necklace to set it all off. Miss Selfridge have some lovely necklaces, braclets in at the min.
I also got a lovely green long Cardigan in Pennies at the weekend, nice when matched with a simple white or grey vest top.

    Good luck

Yeah I was thinking something along those lines. I have a longline grey cardi almost dress length so maybe gladiator sandals and leggings with a nice bright string top underneath, too festival/summerish or ok for a night time thing?

That sounds lovely, I would add some nice jewellery too.

    Enjoy!

By all means dress up. After all you want to show your new partner that you made an effort.
But avoid sandals and the festival look. This is not an open air concert. It's more intimate than that.
    Not too much bling either.

i wouldnt agree to dress up too much katiemac.. its only the cinema and personally, id much rather be underdressed than feeling uncomfortable and overdressed!
go with skinny jeans rather than leggings, a nice plain tank and a long cardi with gladiators.. add some jewellery so it looks like youve made an effort/you can go out after if you decide to.
that way your dressed well, but not up. perfect for a first date! he obv isnt going for formal if hes taking you to the flicks!
