Okay so I have the same PSN account the past two years but the username is downright embarrassing. Not in an unusual but its so lame. Its my full name in small letters.

So I've been thinking of changing, but what are the advantages/disadvantages? Would I lose my trophies that I have or would they be on my new account?

    Thanks guys!

Thats very annoying actually. If they won't offer the simple service of a name change, they could at least give you the option to transfer details and other info to a new account.

    Sony fails again for me.

Do Microsoft have a system for changing your username?

No. You failed when you selected a username that you feel is embarrassing.

What you could do is keep your main account for trophies and create a new one for a particular online game/s.

    Exactly. ^

And when creating a new account, try your arm at an American or Japanese one, though it might be a tad different... But those mother ****ers got more things than us.

Setup a Hong Kong account instead. Its got 99% of the content of the Japanese PSN store and its all in English.

Yes, but they charge 800 MSP (€9.60) to do so  Suppose it's better than nothing, but I wouldn't pay it.

Did you feel the need to mock me. I didn't set up the account my brother did.

And also, would it be so hard for Sony to set up a name change system? Answer me that, because lots of websites and Microsoft do it, why not Sony?

Maybe because you can just set up another free one...... Microsoft do it because they get money, are you willing to pay to get a free account name changed for a fee?...... Sony aren't going to pay someone to change free account names.... the same way FIFA won't have a team of tech's to ban cheats(granted they are including this for next season but that's to a threat of sales:D)

Eh? I didn't mock you. I was merely pointing out that Sony are not at fault for your username. Setup a new account if your brothers name bothers you.

Sorry I had a bad day yesterday. But in my opinion, I really do think they should set it up. It wouldn't cost them anything, they hire PSN coders to do this sort of thing and its what they're already being paid to do.

just do it and don't look back...

I changed my PSN at the start of the year.
Yes you lose any online progress, and trophies. But you can keep the old account on the PS3 and download the games you've paid for anyway.

It would be handy to change, but it's not offered.
so just create a new one and get started - the sooner you start the faster u can build up the progress in your games :)
