The Job: 1, lift 1ft to 1.5ft topsoil from site.
2, lift gravel/sandy/stoney/ from site probably 4ft in places. All topsoil and gravel/sandy sfuff is
all lovely and dry, and no big bolders (i hope).

Question: Whats the best bucket i could ask for when getting the
14 tonne machine on hire? is there an All-purpose wide one?

I suppose i may as well add in, the site is 30meters sq. if anyone has exp, how long will it take to lift this? say 5ft down? yeah, 30 meters sq, and 5ft down, 14 tonne machine. . . .

    cheers,

just out of curiosity are you driving the machine yourself? they normally use a 4ft bucket for digging and then a wider grading bucket for loading the earth or moving it around the site.

ask for the biggest bucket and something around 30 inches too.

it shouldnt be extra for extra buckets.

oh and enjoy, diggers are fun :)
