Narrow band down right hand side of TV - 1080p

When I play bluray DVDs from my playstation onto the flatscreen phillips TV, I'm getting a narrow 2cm band down the right hand side of the screen. Whats visible in that band seems to be what should be on the left hand side of the screen.

Can anyone let me know how I might fix it? Thanks a lot!

    Doesn't sound good.

Is there any options on the TV for adjustment of the position of the image, have you selected the correct aspect i.e full pixel mapping/dot by dot etc

Does it happen with all resolutions or just 1080p?

Has this just happened or has the TV displayed properly previously?

    What is make/model of TV?

Have you contacted the retailer about the problem?

    Sorry bout all the questions.....!!

Might be too obvious, but have you plugged TV from mains for a while (not just standby)?

Good point, could do the trick alright.
And a damn sight quicker than answering my post.

I only really noticed it tonight.. I wasnt sure if it was something thats common and easy to fix or not.

I'll get the finer details and post them up. We were away for 3 weeks so the TV was plugged out all that time.

I think Im sorted.. I changed the PS3 resolution settings to automatic and removed 1080p as an option. Its working off 1080i now and its perfect. Thanks for the replies!

I didnt realise there was much of a difference between 1080i and 1080p.

If you try it back at 1080p, does the problem recur?

TBH, if it's a 1080p TV, and can't display that res properly, I'd have it looked at. If under guarantee, of course.
