Listening to RTE streams using RealPlayer on Mac - groan

    Title says it all.
Occasionally at work I try to get news etc streaming from RTE radio's website using Realplayer.
I find that Realplayer performance on Mac is very poor - especially compared to that on Windows. Continuous drop-outs, garbled, etc.
Is it due to RTE radio's streaming setup or is Mac version of Realplayer substandard?

    Any suggestions for alternatives?

I use it a lot at work as well. Do you play the streams via your browser with the Real Player plugin or with the app itself? The latter is more reliable for me in NUIG, rarely stutters bar when I'm doing something memory-intensive.

Realplayer is the devils work regardless of OS

I play them in the standalone app and if anything it is worse.

    Update:
Since my original post above I have tried the Windows Media link instead of Realplayer within my browser (Firefox 3).
This works extremely well. It is streaming the .asx file flawlessly.
It must be because I have the Flip4mac wmv codec installed.
    Adios Realplayer.
