BTEA for Degree in Medicine?

    Can anyone help answer this?

I am considering returning to college next year(2010) to study medicine, as a mature student. I am currently unemployed and receiving JSB. I currently hold a second-level diploma.

If I were unable to secure work up to September 2010, would I be entitled to claim BTEA for the duration of the 5 or so academic years of a Medicine degree if I were accepted on the course?

At the moment you are allowed to retain BTEA for the duration of the course once you meet the criteria for eligibility ie. 9 months on the live register.... this may well change given the current economic environment. Generally eligibility Free fees and maintenance grants only applies for one undergrad and post-grad programme - as you already have a diploma - you may well have to factor in the issue of fees.
