    Got through to NTL UPC chorus to discuss upgrading my package (pretty quickly actually) The op just put me on hold when i asked her question. It's now 15 minutes later and I'm still on hold listening to the ad girl telling me how great their company. In sickly sweet voice over tones she's telling me how they've won numerous Contact centre awards. They're committed to customer service as well they're telling me.

    Still waiting, maybe she's gone for coffee....

    What a pile of plonkers.

    Sales in NTL are normally very fast . Its when you have an issue to be resolved it takes Fcuking ages

    i rang 2 weeks ago to disconnect my service. waited 18 mins to be told that they'd have to transfer me to different department. When she tried to transfer me she couldnt contact anybody. She told me the cancellation order will be back dated and that someone would ring me back in an hour or so, two weeks later still no call. I'm just going to cancel the direct debit.

    I have had nothing but bad experiences when calling that company.

    Hung up and rang again and in fairness I got sorted, BVB. The thing that really bugged me was when I was put on hold I had to listen to a recording of someone telling me how great their customer service was.
    After 20 minutes listening to this I stared to think....what marketing guru came up with that idea. They were only putting themselves up on a pedistal to be shot down.

    The bit on the recording where they boast about "Award winning customer service department" cracked me up!

    Is the award "Worst customer service department" count as that award?

    Yeah that was the bit that got to me.

    If you're really crap at something...and you know you are...why brag about how good you are? It doesn't make sense. They would be far better off taking the ryanair approach. People would grumble but they'd know what they were dealing with. They're just putting themselves up on a pedestal to be shot down!!!
