Internal doors with locks-is it standard?

    Hi all, quick question-
our builder has told us that it is not standard to have all internal doors with locks attached and really all we should able to lock are the bathroom doors.
He wants to charge us €15 per door if we are to have any more than this with locks.
Is this reasonable? I think it is a bit much to be honest but would like to hear what people think.
    Thanks in advance.

all internal doors should have key locks as standard, unless specifically asked for otherwise.

this is usually included in a PC sum for ironmongery.....

Dont let the builder charge you extra for this unless his quotation specifically stated that no locks were included on internal doors.

OP - this was standard builder crap during the boom . Tell him you want locks and you don't intend to pay extra

But - on the other hand at €15 a go keep some proportion . If all else is well don't fall out over it

Alot of housing estate houses would only have the cheaper and quicker to fit door catch without the locking part.
Be sure you get the locks throughout anyway and fight with him over the cost. Its not mad money though at least

Thanks v much to ye all.
Will bear this all in mind because I couldn't believe what he had said.
He has done a v v good job so far but has been thirsty enough for adding on extras so we will stand our ground, we are not going to let him take the p*ss over this.
    Thanks again :)

We just got our doors delivered about a week ago and all doors had locks fitted...needed to source the handles ourselves (which we preferred anyway).
