Payment of court fines...how long do i get?

Am up in court in two weeks for 10 summons for driving offences,no insurance, tax, full license or licensed driver and then other ones relating to these(not showing the guards within 10days)

I know i could be very heavily fined and was just wondering if anyone knew how long the courts give you to repay the fine? It might not be that large as i have a garda from charlemount garda station who is meant to be acting as a character witness for me as he knows that i had not driven the car in almost 8 months and only drove less than 5 mins around the corner to try and sell it as i had been trying very hard to get rid of it

But if it comes to the worst possible outcome how can i expect them to make me pay? And could the judge take into account that my salary is less than €20k a year and i'm about to be let go and let me pay it off over time?

I know that i might not be able to get a correct answer off anyone here just seeing if anyone can give me an answer on what might generally happen

Solicitor is best advice......not as expensive as you'd think.

In regards to time frame to pay, its up to the judge to decide that. Normaly down here its 100 days to pay.

Not only could you be heavily fined, but not having insurance (section 56 Road Traffic act 1961 as amended) is a serious offence and will usually lead to a disqualification order. You really need to talk to a solicitor.

In relation to the fines, I don't know what fine will be imposed on you, but it would be usual for a Judge to say for example something along the lines:"Fine €500 30 days to pay 10 days in default" Note these figures are by way of illustration only and do not relate to advice regarding your case. What they mean is 30 days to pay the fine and if not paid within that time you do 10 days in prison instead.
