I didn't hear that...? They're closing the pub and club is it?

Yeah, the pub, club and snooker club are closed, I think.

Bugger. I really hope someone does something with the property, because it'd be a real eye-sore for the community if it was left derilict. In truth, the whole operation has suffered from shoddy, cheap upkeep for over 10 years. It always had amazing potential, with tennis courts, indoor soccer, pitch and putt, driving range, golf shop, bar, food, snooker, night club all in the middle of a huge suburban population.

But all of the above have only ever been presented in a half-assed way. The range is fine, I suppose. But it just seems thrown together, run down.

Yeah, it's been looking run-down for a while. Tennis courts look like they are not maintained at all. I think they had pinned their hopes on building a hotel there. Maybe that's why they didn't maintain it.

On another thread I have mentioned that I have a Nike driver on order from the golf shop there. I have been waiting since July 8th. That's when I left my deposit.

Does anyone think that this is dodgey? Should I demand my deposit back?

I thought it was dodgey too. Story explained on the Nike Driver thread.

They also have a shop in Drogheda. I'll go there today.

Is the Bar and Snooker closed at the moment or is it due to be closed?

Ah crap, that's my local range and I do lessons there, only 1 left from 6 so must book in tomorrow and ask the pro what the deal is. Will update you...

Here's the info I have... The pub part was leased by a seperate company. The range is a different part, and the golf shop is a separate business. I'm sure they'll want another business in there soon, though...

A major program of redevelopment was scheduled to start last year, but has been put off for obvious reasons. I hope it will start soon, but it's down to banks!
The pub and nightclub have closed, probably as well seeing the punters that frequented it.

Can anyone confirm if the driving range is open? I've heard conflicting reports (and there are conflicting posts above).

    thanks :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 883 ✭✭✭Brockagh

    It's still open.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 Supateer

Yeah, still open as the range run by the owners of the complex
