haybob reel straightening

    I heard of a guy around Athenry that does this, but I can't be of anymore help, i don't have any details. I didn't get it done, but I head it has been successful.

    There was a guy in Abbeyshrule in Longford that did it. We brought one to him years ago and it was repaired perfect. At the time, I was told that he was the only guy in the country doing it. But that was 15 years ago. As far as I am aware he is still doing it. His name was White and I think he has something to do with Whites trailers. If you google Whites trailers you will get a contact number for them and they will be able to point you in the right direction.

    if it's Co Limerick I know Coleman Collopy in Ardpatrick used to repair a lot of haybobs, He would have to have straightened the reels at some stage. As for reccommending him, the contractor I worked for used to use him for all the major welding repairs and anything he welded stayed welded, we might have broken and bent every other part of the machine around it but his repairs stayed welded. That's not an exaggeration, I drove during the summers while in college but studied and then worked as an engineer and often used t visit the contractor when I come pay off the ship, things Coleman welded were still working 10 years later.

    Could you get the bars bent using the other reel as a template and get someone to weld them in/on. It might be cheaper

    I am the guy from Abbeyshrule that straightened the Haybob Reels for you!! George Farrar is my name. I am still doing it and have an ad in Donedeal at the moment. I am available six days a week and evenings by appointment. I can straighten any reel for modern machines. My contact number is 087 2584238.
