Trendy suit retailers in Dublin

Am in the market for a suit and looking for recommendations for shops in Dublin city.

I tried the obvious, Loius Copeland, but the guys in there seemed, to put it harshly, just too old to be cool ... their ideas were more Tubridy than Pitt.

Anyone know somewhere that does stylish and trendy? Or better yet, anyone know where I can get a Tom Ford suit for E600? :)

Paul Smith might be your sort of thing - Brown Thomas and Alias Tom both carry him, as far as I know. Massimo Dutti have nice stuff but it's a touch overpriced IMO. Ted Baker do a well-cut suit, however, you have to look quite hard to get something that doesn't have some sort of shiny stripe through it. Reiss are hit or miss but worth having a look.

All the above having been said, with suits it's always better to go classic rather than trendy. A well-cut classic suit in good cloth is always a good buy. However, a "trendy" suit, no matter how good value at the time, will not last.

<rant>I called into Brown Thomas today. Normally you don't want to be approached by ales assistants, but when it comes to buying a suit I think staff assistance is essential. I got no such assistance from anyone there. Couldn't even tell who was working in the shop. After asking what turned out to be another customer for help, I left embarrassed and swearing that I would never darken their doors again. Nice job BTs.</rant>

Thanks for your advice. When I say trendy I dont mean I want a suit thats a total fad and going to look daft in six months. I would just like, as I said, to dress more like Brad Pitt than Ryan Tubridy.

    The search continues.

Odd - there's a couple of guys in the BT suit section who are very good indeed... I think you may have been unlucky!
