Have you been to Anchorage before?
How long are you spending there?

If you are travelling via the Glen Hwy stop off at Lake Louise. It's a few miles off the Hwy but is one of the largest lakes in Alaska. There is accommodation available on the lake.
You will also see the long rifle lodge further towards Anchorage. Nice view of the glacier that formed the Anchorage bowl.

If you had more time to spend you could detour to Valdez. It's a long way from Anchorage and you might not get another chance to visit.
