    Hey all,
My broadband has been upgraded and since then my connection is great for live gaming,As I'm on summer hols I'm playing it quite a bit,The live chat is also very clear and it's always good to have a bit of friendly rivalry :)

Anyway,As I'm in the living room I use headphones plugged into theTV,But I then have to put the live headset under it,Which isn't very comfortable...What do all of you do?Anything cheap?:pac:

i just bought a turtle beach ear force x1 headset which has voice chat and sound from your tv both coming through the headphones. i've only heard great things about them and when i used them for the first time i wasn't disappointed. i'm not sure if you can get them in ireland but i got mine from canada for around €52 and only took a week to arrive.

Cool, was looking for this at a cheaper price than the UK shops.

you could go for the cheaper option and have the voice set to come through the speakers (headphones in your case) then put the headset round your neck and position the mic close to your gob :D all you have to do then is edit the game/voice volume to your own preference.

[What you could do is just use the headphones with the headset slightly to the side. Set the online speech to come through speakers and headset. Put the volume of the speech up to max and turn down the ingame audio sound. Then turn up the volume through your headphones. What you should end up with is being able to hear the chat through your headphones at a higher level than the ingame audio with the mic free to answer with.

That's what I do anyway as an alternative to buying a new set of headphones.]

    Gah! What TheMeatMan said! :-D

What he says works a treat. Best to run the audio through an amplifier, as the sound is of better quality, and offers better directionality (even in stereo). Make sure to adjust game volume lower in the in-game settings to get the voice audio clearer.

you do feel a little bit restricted but its worth it in the end! ive got a pair of sennheisers running through a yamaha 5.1 receiver connected to the xbox via optical cable..the silent cinema feature on the yamaha is fantastic.

Cheers for that info actually! Was trying to consider a remedy as I'm in the same position as the OP. Must give this a shot later on :D

Im in 3 minds now after reading reviews on the Turtle beach. :(

Should I get an X1, X3 or X4? Or something else entirely?

i think the only difference between the x1 and the x3 is that the x3 is wireless and then the main difference between those 2 and the x4 is that there suppose to 5.1 dolby digital surround sound.
