    Hi all,

Apologies if this isnt the correct place to post this, but i've no idea about computers / net etc.

I got meteor to go bill pay today, and its €16.99 a month for 5gb, and 2c per mb after that.

When I was wrapping up the purchase yer one said to me "blah, blah, blah, and your bill will be around €20 - €25 per month"

Is this because people usually use more than 5GB per month?

I'll be using it to check emails, facebook, youtube, and working on my website, do people think I will go over the 5GB?

I have 7days to return it no problem, do people think i should cancel it and go with another network that gives 10gb?

    Cheers!

I would probably ring up Meteor and confirm what plan I'm on and the full T+C.

i assume they meant €20-€25 because they think i'll go over the 5GB?

To be honest, you should try the other providers before you are stuck into a cotract.

If 3's mobile broadband works well for you it's €19.99 for 15GB which is by a large margin the most generous allocation of all the providers.

Vodadone just last week changed their 5GB limit to 10GB, so it's now in line with o2's 10GB limit and both are €19.99 a month. These two have by a good margin the best coverage for 3G, but in the same breath they're also by a big margin the most popular providers of mobile services i ngeneral so you could expect (more so) slower speeds at peak times. Depending on your location, that shouldn't mean it goes too slow, though.

To put it simply, if you can get a good, stable connection with 3 it's the best deal in terms of the download limit and to a lesser degree provider traffic.

Well that all depends on what you'll use it for, but for the sake of a little time to test the others to get up to three times as much bandwidth it's more than worth it for piece of mind alone.

this is prob a stupid question, but can I try the others (o2 / vodafone / 3g) without buying them?

O2 have a free trial at the moment. You need to provide deposit + ID in store.

I've only ever exceeded my 10GB per month allowance if I've downloaded several large video files, as well as uploading via torrents.

If you use as you say above I can't imagine you'd exceed 5GB.

As has been mentioned o2 have a completely free trial. but all providers let you return the product within a seven or fourteen peroid. Just make it clear up front that you're not sure it'll work and there'll be no chance of trouble.
