    hey folks

I have Alarm monitoring contract with Network Security, they want €185 per year which seems a lot, so I got to thinking, can you go to a third party for another quote, surely you don't have to stick with the crowd you bought it off?

System hasn't got the GSM module so don't want to get into that debate ;)

but for those that are interested it's a Guard tec GTI Wireless alarm

    Any advice would be appreciated

There's nothing stopping you from switching to another company. At the moment I charge the same for monitoring but I will soon be able to offer monitoring at substantially reduced rates on new installs.
That said I don't do the Risco/Gardtec equipment and Network will have the panel locked to them.
I would suggest you go back to Network and haggle for a better deal. There's a lot of new central stations after popping up and as a result prices are coming down

Any panel can be changed to a different monitoring station. You should get on to them and get the eng code or get them out to change the eng code back to factory settings so you can get it reprogrammed. They will charge you to change this code. I charge €220 a year for monitoring and a service visit as all monitored alarms need to have service contract on them to be monitored.
