    Just heard on newstalk that a light aircraft crashed off Wexford

    Around Tuskar Rock area.....pilot has been rescued and taken to Waterford Hospital and he was sole occupant. Apparantely eyewitness say plane crash and telephoned coastgaurd.

    Yeah, just heard he was rescued. Nice to have a happy ending at Tusker. Well done to all involved.

    What was the cause of the crash does anyone know? Fuel starvation or engine failure? Did the pilot radio a mayday or was it the guys in the boat? Cant listen to the sound on that program where I am.

    mayday call was made and rescue 117 was on way the guys rowing got to him first as for fuel starvation the plane was floating for a good while which would indicate that there was fuel in the wings.

    there should be a report on the aaiu website shortly

    I was just going to post that!

    they never miss a beat, do they? At least they won't be sued for this one though!

    I liked the bit that "it would be quicker and dryer to fly ryanair"
