F keys on a wireless mac keyboard

Hi, Ive googled this but cannot find anything relevant. I have a 6 months new 3.06ghz Imac with a wireless keyboard.

In some programs I'm using (specifically Reason) it says hit F8 to quick open the tool window. However, the keyboard doesn't have any f keys. Does anyone know if there is another way to hit f8?

    Any help much appreciated :D

use the fn and the f8 key. otherwise

To switch the function keys to perform alternate functions:

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Keyboard & Mouse.

Click Keyboard, if the keyboard pane isn’t showing.

Select the “Use the F1-F12 keys to control software features” checkbox.

Hi Greentree. I'm not at home in front of the mac but I'm pretty sure there are no f keys on the keyboard (only standard numbers). Do you mean use Fn and the number 8? I'm pretty sure I tried that and nothing happened. I'll have a better look when home though. Thanks for your reply.:D

    Isn't this your keyboard?:

The function keys are over the number row but by default are assigned to the hotkey functions, like volume up/down, brightness, etc but what Greentree_uk posted is correct if you want them to act as function keys by default rather than hotkeys...

You can flip the function keys back to regular F-keys, see http://kevingessner.com/software/functionflip/.

I've had the computer since Christmas last and I've never noticed them f keys - though they are miniscule.

    Thanks all for your help.
