    Hi all

I've some sort of oil leak on my mazda 6 on the passenger side, it's the right hand drive version. I've had a look at it and it seems to be coming from the connections to the small radiator at the front of the car which i assume is for the air con ? Anyway does anyone know if it's ok to disconnect this and replace the seal in it or is it a pressurised type of thing that i'd be better off leaving to a mechanic that knows what they're doing.

I've checked the drive shaft and it's all clean so i know that's not the problem, looks more like the connection to the small rad is the fault,

    Any help appreciated

If it is the air con condenser, you need to get the pressure and gas captured, get it repaired and then re-charged. You can't just open the pipes.........

If it's an actual engine oil leak (I don't know if that car has an oil cooler, for example...), then stop driving it immediately and fix it.

I've checked all around the engine and i'm sure it's not an engine oil leak plus there's plenty of oil in it too, i haven't had to top it up. the leak seems to be between two connecting pipes that go into the small rad at the front, also the air con on the car has never really been cold so that's why i'm thinking it might be the air con, any idea how much they cost to be re-charged and do i have to get a dealer to do it ?

...not necessarily a main dealer - but lot's of radiator places do aircon re-gassing these days. Even my local Indo does.

Cost to re-gas about Eur90, plus any repairs (which they, or any garage can do).

Great thanks for the reply, will have to get it re gasses at some stage.

Found my problem on a mazda forum and turns out it's an intercooler problem and it's a manufacturer recall so will find out on thurs from the dealer if my car qualifies, hopefully so.
