Congratulations on getting the interview. You've already got across a few hurdles reaching the short-list.

Typically you'll be interviewed by your academic supervisor and possible manager or company owner. The set-up may vary depending on the area you work in and the company size.

Interviews are not standard anywhere so you could get a set list of questions or it may be a more exploratory form of interview: they ask question, you give answer, they ask question based on your answer etc.

In particular, be prepared to describe, at a high level, any previous project you've done - even if that's only a final year project. More low-level details may be requested but I doubt it. Your approach to your last project may also be queried - how did you handle problems? any team work involved? etc. Actually, there is a good chance that you may be working solo either all or part of the time on this project so you may be asked about that, although maybe in terms of 'are you self-motivated?'.

Good luck, and if you get the position always be prepared to ask many questions when you start and don't be afraid to report problems.

    Hello irishgirl81,

hope your interview went well. I have also applied for a position a couple of weeks ago but have not heard back yet. Did you have to wait for a long time after the closing date before you were called for the interview?
    Thanks! :-)
