Hey all, theres a problem on my mother's computer and I cant figure it out for the life me. Her keyboard stopped working for some reason. When I plug it out and plug it back in, the 3 lock lights flash, but then its unresponsive after that. Tried another keyboard but the exact same thing is happening. Both are PS/2 keyboards tho. I should probably try a USB one but i haven't got any lying around.

Checked the device manager, all the drivers are working. I don't think its a windows problem because I can't enter the BIOS or setup before it loads. Any ideas? Broken PS/2 port possibly?

    Running XP by the way.

USB keyboards were expensive back in the day. I mean, I had a keyboard from 1995. Why should I be the one who has to change?

WTF I know they colour code PS/2 sockets for mouse/keyboard but I never knew that the ports and functions were binded like that. It's fluke that I never seemed to have made that mistake because I probably would have been stumped on that occasion too.

    Good to know, cheers ;)
