Hey ill be living near daydreak for the year and was wondering does anyone have a free space for a car? I was thinking of asking some locals as there are obviously houses around with spaces. would be willing to pay or come to some arrangement. thanks.

To be honest you will be doing well, get yourself a residents permit.
Make sure your landlord registers you with the prtb and then get onto the council, you will have to change the address your car is registered to though.
After that if i was you i would park up highfield west its a lot quiter than highfield ave.

Its either that or rent one im afraid DAFT, parking in college isnt easy to come by everyone wants it and noone has it.
If you know anyone living in brookfield they can try get one and you pay for it, its not cheap though ~300+ a year and not available to all.

I managed to get residents parking, took a while though. If I remember correctly, you need the prtb thing (which can be hard to get from some landlords. I know in first year, my landlord didn't register us), 2 bills in your name, the motor tax and insurance to the house you are staying in, plus you need a solicitor (or equivalent) to sign the form to say that while you are registered to vote at your home, you are living in Cork. It takes quite a while to get it sorted but if you want to have a car in college. It's what you have to do
