C'mon Meath. Would make my year if they won Sam. It would be a victory for receding hairline sufferers everywhere :pac:

    Kerry I think, now.

If Meath were to beat Kerry (its not probable but they might) then I think they'd have a great chance. Mind you i still think the winners will come from the Tyrone-Cork match. And i think Cork will do it and bring Sam down to the Lee. I just think its their year. They finally have the right manager in Conor Counihan. I think some of their previous bad experiences in Croker in semi finals and finals will stand to them. They are strong all over the park and have quality on the bench too. There has to be an All Ireland in this team sooner or later.

Cork... or Maybe Tyrone... Actually MEath have a great chance.

Not Kerry though. We're a poor side who just met a worse side in Dublin. That performence wouldn't win us a Division 4 game in the first round of the LEague down in Tralee, not a mind a Semi Final!

I'd say Tyrone to wina dn to cement their place as team of the decade!!!

    Brian Dooher for Pope!

Meath will win sam this year.I think they have the ability to cause an upset and beat kerry.if they did beat them, they'd be favourites for the all-ireland and
obviously wouldn't fear either Cork or Tyrone, and as you've seen Meath have already gotten revenge this year in the form of the limerick win and who knows, it could be a Meath/Cork final where we will have yet another chance of sweet revenge:D lol

I put Tyrone although I'd like if Cork won (and beat Kerry in the final) :D

by the way, how do we see the results??

Tyrone will brush aside Cork in the Semi leaving a Kerry and Tyrone final again. Fancy Kerry this time to just edge it.

Its a 24hr poll so the results will be available at lunchtime tomorrow.

I lumped on Kerry @ 15-8 at the start of the year and that was looking very dodgy for a while. Not too bad now though. I honestly think Cork can beat Tyrone but it should be a cracker of a match. It really will boil down to whoever plays better on the day. Cork would fear Kerry more than Tyrone would.

    kerry.

Looking at the potential finals, it could nearly go anyway between them all.

    Cork V Kerry

Cork are better (IMO) but so often bottle it against Kerry at HQ. Grudgingly give this to Kerry.

    Tyrone V Kerry

If Tyrone beat Cork, then logic states they are better than Kerry. And they have no issues playing Kerry either. Give this to Tyrone.

    Meath V Cork

I'd have to give this to Cork. But I went to the Meath Roscommon game, and watched the Limerick and Mayo games. It would not be beyond the bounds of possibilty for Meath to wear us down and grind out a win.

    Meath V Tyrone

    Same as for Meath Cork.

I got cork at 9/1 during the league. if they can get over tyrone then they will do it. Big ask though

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,708 ✭✭✭Erin Go Brath

Tyrone haven't even got going yet. We've seen one big game from Kerry and one possibly two from Cork. Cork people might be bullish about their chances, i just can't see them living with Tyrone though. Tyrone will look at how Limerick played Cork in the Munster to find a lot of Cork weaknessess and Tyrone obviously have far better players than Limerick to punish these.
I also think Tyrone will have too much for Kerry if they meet in the final, they've had an edge over them for a while now. Sorry Meath fans i can't see you guys living with Kerry, although Meath are improving as they go on.

Cork to beat Tyrone & then bottle it against Kerry in the final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 813 ✭✭✭Poulgorm

You can't go on form in this year's championship. Dublin beat Kildare...Tyrone struggle against Kildare...Kerry hammer Dublin...so in a Kerry - Tyrone final, Kerry should hammer Tyrone. But even the most optimistic Kerryman couldn't see that happening.

The only pattern I see emerging is that Cork are slowly getting the measure of Kerry. In their last 5 championship clashes (2 this year, 3 last year), Kerry have beaten Cork only once.

My gut feeling is that it will be a Tyrone - Meath final. And Tyrone to win - they are still feeling sore about Meath taking out Canavan a few years ago - that motivation will drive them to a win.

Ah yes but Kerry won the one that counted do you really think the current Kerry panel give a toss about munster medals at this stage, its all about Croke park for them and untill Cork can beat them in a knock-out game in Croker the doubts will linger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 101 ✭✭Craig Dowling

im an eternal optimist but if Meath are at least competitive against Kerry they could beat them

i hold no fear from the other side of the draw as meath can beat tyrone and want to beat cork sooo badly after 2 years ago (i was at that game)

    Royals for sam 09

If you think that Kerry are not bothered about Cork beating them in a Munster Final, you are not of this planet. If it works out to be a Cork - Kerry final, I would be quietly confident of a Cork victory. Under our current trainer, our record against Kerry is quite good. As I said, one Kerry victory in the last 5 games

This. Cork have improved big time since Counihan took over whereas Kerry haven't improved by much (if anything they have gone backwards a bit). They still have a massive job to do beating Tyrone though.

kerry for me, i have a feeling cork will beat tyrone, kerry to beat meath with something to spare in the other semi and kerry to beat cork as usual in croker

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 49 tommyfitz

Meath fan here. We might beat Kerry and Tyrone but we wont beat Cork because they are too big and mobile, so we need Tyrone to beat Cork.
However I think Cork WILL win All-Ireland Football Final.

As a Kerry man I hate to admit it but I think Tyronne will do it again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 870 ✭✭✭overmantle

fter today, it's not going to be Tyrone anyway. Hope there's another great performance in Cork.

Well they're always due one great flop against Kerry in croke park so I'm hoping for kerry now :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 324 ✭✭Johnnyjump

Kerry to be the flop or Kerry's opponents to be the flop?Kerry have to be in a strong position now but it will be a hard one to call.

What a year it would be for cork to win sam....beating tyrone and kerry (x2) on the way...

What a sickener that would be for the cute HOORs:)

Ya but you know what happens to cork in croke park against Kerry...................Flop!

Kerry are a very poor and beatable team and I think Cork have stepped it up a gear, but, they did look vulnerable when tyronne were coming back before the end of the first half and it just screamed of the team falling apart like other years, when Darragh gets going for his traditional 10 minutes of play and kerry start closing the gap I can't garauntee cork won't fall apart.

Cork are a very impressive looking team, and sam is theirs to lose cause neither of the other two teams come close in terms of preperation and conditioning but are you sure they won't just flop on the big day like they have in the past? I certainly hope not cause i think Kerry need a kick up the arse to rejuvinate and rebuild that team..............
