Would you sell or purchase through Adverts.ie

I'm trying to gauge the interest people would have in buying or selling Angling equipment through Adverts.ie

There is a possibility of the nice people at Board giving us a dedicated 'Angling' section, but we'd have to justify it as there's quite a bit of setup/maintenance involved.

Let me know if you would be 'likely' to a) sell, b) buy or c) both on a dedicated Adverts page

    cheers

    Andi

Dedicated Angling sales are on Adverts.ie - would you use it ? 19 votes

I'd buy and sell. Though I probably wouldn't sell very often, I tend to hoard everything :)

A separate section would be great if they would grant it, it might take a little while for it to become popular but once it got moving I could see it being used quite a bit.

Personally, i have never been wild about adverts, so for this one i will sit on the fence. ;)

Im on Adverts.ie almost as much as Boards, ive bought and sold loads of stuff, great service
I think with the popularity of angling and Adverts it could only be a good thing, another option would be to add a For sale/wanted section up as a sticky here, might liven things up here and attract new members to the angling forum

I visit it from time to time, but haven't used it.
I likely will use it a couple of times a year.

Yeah has been suggested but forum rules dictate that everything for sale goes through Adverts.ie - in fairness, membership of boards is pretty cheap (or free) and Adverts provides a commercial stream for them...

    Ouch, hate when that happens!

On topic, I'd use it, as I said in the other thread, would be good to have a sticky thread in here so users can post a link when they have an item for sale on adverts...

Some of the other specialist forums have for sale sections in them but i fully support the idea of a section on adverts or in the sticky.
just tidied up all my gear today so might have a few items to get the ball roling:D

I'm with you there - closed the boot lid on my jeep and didnt realise my rod bag was still partially in the way - lost two rods & a landing net handle:o

    +1 here.

I've sold on adverts but not bought anything yet. We have a "For Sale" section in the shooting forum but that's probably to keep it away from the general public. I also see a lot of people with a link to their ads in their signatures. Useful if you've just posted something.

Would definitely be interested in viewing / selling angling gear on adverts.ie, +1 from me too.

    Would definitely buy.

Even though I've sold a couple of cars on adverts ,doubt I would sell anything as I tend to hoard everything as well.

Managed to lose a rod tip through over eager closing of the boot as well on the weekend.

    oh mother of god! sick.
never checked out adverts.ie, will do so now.
i think i'd prefer a dedicated sticky here on this forum but then i'm old and crotchedy and lazy. if it was here on this forum i'd be helping out fellow posters and bringing traffic here but let me check out this fandangled adverts.ie thingy.

if the angling gear continue to be posted in the sports gear then it gets lost quickly. i don't think i'd be checking it out much.

the way adverts.ie is structered is brilliant, it keeps dealers like me out. but i'd prefer if the fishing stuff were on here in a sticky, it could be brilliant here, and really ramp up the traffic. (i hate that phrase, i mean it would increase the number of anglers reading and writing).
edit: i just voted 'i'd do both' coz if something is cheap enough i'd go to the effort, but i don't think i'd be making much of an effort. i did a search on fishing gear over the last few months and didn't see any great bargains, unlike here were i got a float tube from coolwings for next to nothing (owe u for that big time norman) and a big box of flytying gear for 50 euro from bitemoibanger which included a few fleas! but no camphor!

Fleas:eek: or do you mean flys??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭Doc Farrell

    definitely fleas!

but great funny stuff in there, gonna freeze, mothball, euthenaise the little buggers!
