Well i rang up to stop contract and also direct debit and they got annoyed and asked why? I said i changed to new all in 1 package and that i found ripwave very slow. They said i had to send back unit, didnt know i had to! They said the 75 euro i paid included connection and first 3 months , i argued this because at time of purchase i was told first 3 months are free? I told them to send an sae out but they refused , its going to cost me about 15 euro to send it all back otherwise they will sue.

I haven't found them to be unpleasant at all. I know it's annoying having to send it back as they used to send a courier but now they've stopped.

yes but i paid what i thought was 75 quid for the unit, turns out that the first 3 months were never free! The service was awful, too slow and sometimes didnt work, changed to upc, brilliant service, speed terrific.

When the upc engineer comes around what exactly does he do?

We got internet, phone and tv pack -60 euro per month, the first guy fecked it up but upc sent one of their own guys after and he great, basically they just connect new box to tv and connect pc to internet with wireless router , then you wait 30 mins and its all done by staff in office, thats it, they in house for half an hour tops, he also had to drill small hole in wall , its hidden by the curtain for connection wire.

What is this small hole for? how big is this? am i to understand that the engineer will wreck my wall?

no, he wont wreck your wall, very tiny , just for new wire to run to connection on outside of house, box is fitted on inside , we hid it behind curtain.
