ok heading to nuig in sep. moving down with a few friends and we got a house together. basically the main reason i'm so excited about starting college is the prospect of meeting new people and the social life of galway.
i have fears however by moving down with friends and not living in student accomodation i.e corrib village, ill be reducing my chances of getting to know new people. don't get me wrong i dont have some big fairytale vision of college and having a million friends...i just want to get to know new people and have a good time, oh yeah a maybe do bit of study aswell:P

so any suggestions that will help me have the best time possible. i'll appreciate them, thanks:D

I'm sure if you are staying near the college there will be plenty other students around you that you can make friends with!
Otherwise, join societies or clubs - great ways of meeting new people with similar interests!
There'll be class parties, organised by class reps which are a another way of meeting new people, from your class in particular, that way if you miss lectures or anything, you'll have people to get notes ff (But don't rely on this!)
I bet you'll find it a lot easier then you think to make new friends. I sure your friends will make new friends too, some of which (or maybe all) you'll become friendly with!
Don't worry, Galway is brilliant! You'll def enjoy yourself and be spending all your time at Java's or Smokies!

    Good luck
