Has anyone had any issue with regard to serious delays in obtaining their wedding albums (mod-edit)

Maybe you should have asked that before you booked him.

How much of a delay? It would be an idea to state this before maybe blackening a business's name.

    What exactly is the problem?

Have they given you a reason for the delay?

We are married nearly two years now. We submitted our chosen proofs to the photographer over one year ago and still have not received the album. He keeps promising us we'll have it in a few weeks time but this has been going on since November 2008

Thats a bit over the top. Maybe pay him a visit and enquire as to what the exact problem is. Also did you sign a contract? If so the delivery time scale should be in this, if it is pver the time then you can threaten a claim for breach of contract, this may speed it up for you.

On the issue of photographers, my sister had to take her wedding photographer to the small claims court, and won. Basically photographer kept fobbing them off, album would be ready by x date, and then again another few months and again etc. They were nearly 2 years waiting to see a single photo from the wedding. Plus she was a complete nutbag who at one point threatened to commit suicide if they came to visit her in person to get the discs. Real pity it went sour because the pictures were quite good as it turned out.

Unfortunately we did not get a written contract. We took him at his word which in hindsight was a very foolish thing to do. He's paid in full too since January 2008.

Mr Moto, I can understand your frustration but potentially defamatory statements can't be left on the site so I have edited accordingly.

Have you any paper trail of the payments? Maybe contact the consumer advice bureau and see what they say. I would definitely not let it lie though, this is a very long time to wait.
