    Tullamore's own Pauline Curley won the w40 marathon at the World Masters Championships in Finland.Announced to some great cheers at the national league final in Tullamore.
    If there is ever a more deserving athlete to win a world title

    Such a great boost to all our athletes competing this weekend and onwards in Berlin.

    It's not only Pauline who is world champ!! Ireland have a total of 3 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze from these games.:eek:
    Our former Olympian Jimmy McDonald recorded a brilliant double in the M45 5000m/10000m race walk.:P
    Not too sure who the other medalists are.

    That's nuts. I was sure I saw Pauline in Tullamore around 930 this morning. Surely you don't fly to Finland the same day and win a marathon :confused:

    She must have a doppleganger.

    The race was Saturday! That probably explains it :)

    Very, very well deserved indeed- delighted for her! :D
