Am recently seperated living in family home with 3 kids, I now pay mortgage, house and mortgage in both our names. He says he is entitled to keep a key, is this true even though he's moved out?
    Thanks

Were you legally separated, were you married?

You should seek a solicitor's advice asap...

My guess would be yes, though. Particularly if the house is in both your names.

Thanks, yes am married and don't know why I've waited so long to see solr. Will do this week. Doesn't seem fair that he can just walk in when he pleases. Am tempted to change the locks....:confused:

Don't do anything so foolish without talking to a solicitor first.

How would you feel if the boot was on the other foot?

Not legal advice by any means.

Yeah, talk to a solicitor. I wouldn't go changing the locks just yet, he could end up coming to the house with a garda and a court order against you:eek:

Be imaginative though, there are plenty of ways around it.

If it's harassment you're worrying about, file a complaint immediately at your local garda station.

Chaining the door closed *to prevent intruders* might be an idea. I also hear that alarm codes need changing on a constant basis to ensure maximum security!

    Best of luck with it...

Demonise the guy why don't you? The OP has not said a word against him or his behaviour.

Thanks to all, def won't do anything untill i speak to Solr, really don't want to provoke anything nasty. Mortgage / House is more a liability than an asset, only in it 18 months, in neg equity, huge mortgage, so not coming at it from that perspective. It just seems wrong that he is free to walk in and out of my home, a home he walked out on...I don't have access to his home.
Anyway ta for the tips and advice.

    I didn't demonise him, did I?

No, not half - only that she's left him and doesn't want him to have access to the house any more, that's all!

    Hi As_The_Wheel_Turns and Hagar.
Just to clarify, he left me (and our 3 kids), and no I don't think he's been deamonised, think Hagar, you r v quick to see it from his perspective??
Don't think I'm being unreasonable in not wanting him to have free access to my home either.
    Thanks again guys/gals....
