    Hi,

    I have exemptions from F1 - F4. I am planning to take F5 F6 and F7 this December.

I dont have the regular free time to do lectures so I am going to study from home.

I was planning to just use the BPP texts and materials, and possibly do the revision courses.

Do you think their home study course is worthwhile? Are the revision courses good, or are the course books and revision texts and past papers enough?

Does anyone prefer different providers to BPP?

Anybody who has attempted these already what do you reccomend? All advice appreciated :) !!

F5 (dec 08) - I did the course in Griffith but I think you still have to do most of the work yourself anyway and I found the Kaplan book very good. In hindsight I think i could have managed home study with that and not done classes. Not mad about the Kaplan exam kit because a lot of the questions were either adjusted CIMA questions or "old" ACCA ones and not quite the same style as the type of questions in more recent exam papers from the website. Haven't seen the BPP F5 material so maybe their exam kit is better.

F6 - did this in Griffith again and our lecturer chose to use a McKeon Murray book that to my knowledge is specific to IATI year 2 tax so there is a bit more detail in it than is required for the ACCA F6 exam. Home study might be better with BPP material specific for ACCA as it would be too much hassle to filter out irrelevant stuff from another book.
