Contact the registry, school faculty or whoever is coordinating the course / research. Whatever it is you're doing. I wasn't aware there was funding for a masters but i am open to correction

Kind of off topic but i was just wondering OP what is your undergrad background? Quite interested in this course myself and just wanted to get some insight into what kind of level I would want to be at to get in.

    Thanks in advance

I did B.A (Hons) in Financial Services from NCI.....Master in Finance is a well established programme for the undergraduates who want to gain extra information regarding to financial sector and develop themselves on high level studie.

I hope this will help you!!!

There was that announcement by the minister last week about funding for post grad courses (mine isn't on the list :(). You can check to see if your course is covered in the excel document at the bottom of this page

I was going to give the same advice as above but thought a little humour was needed:

you say you might need funding .... well this DCU student also needed help with money.

It depends on your circumstances from the previous year. If you are coming directly from a undergrad course and were in reciept of a grant, you carry on recieving it. If not apply to your local authority as postgrad courses have a higher allowable income bracket.
If you took a year out to work and were in a different residence from your parents on 1st october 2008 you can apply to your local authority as an independent mature student(goes on your own income for 2008)
If you were living and depending on your parents you apply as a dependent mature student(goes on your parents income)
If your were in reciept of social welfare payments last year, not 100% sure but you might to entitled to a back to education allowance as well as a maintance grant from your local authority, you should check this out.
If you qualify for the grant including part maintance you get 6,270 of post graduate course covered, and you pay the balance yourself
Do you mind me asking how long ago did you apply for this course, I applied as well but still waiting to hear if i got accepted or not-thanks

Well done! I applied a month ago for this course, yet my BA and IELTS results are pending and I won't be able do deliver them to DCU sooner than in two weeks. So I still have to wait.

Would you say that MSc in Finance in UCD is better? As far as I know it costs a bit more and you also must do GMAT.

yeh i know its a bit dear, but i am waiting for them to reply me too, then I'll make the decision,,,I have to think about the travelling distance too...DCU is about half an hour away from me home while UCD might take an hour and half. Another thing is that i went to city council today and they will cover 6300 of my fees so better spending it on DCU rather than UCD where I have to pay another 6000 from my pocket. I dont really see any difference between those 2 courses after reviewing few of the net research and etc, you dont need GMAT for MSC in Finance........why dont they reply you and why do you need IELTS...you seems to be international student??

No, they did replay to me, yet they couldn't make a decision until I post them before-mentioned results, which I'm actually confident about. So it seems as if they still have number of places available.

I'm also awaiting the decision re MSc in Finance in DIT, which honestly I would prefer to UCD because of the location. I will have to walk 20 minues and then take about 30-minute bus trip in order to get to the to the latter, and the former is only 15-20 minutes walk from my home. (I was already offered a place for Postgraduate Diploma in Finance in DIT, which I keep just in case.)S

There's also MSc in Finance in TCD, yet the price is too dear.

So if you have a place in DCU, the location suits you and you will not have to pay additional 6,000 euros, why are you waiting for UCD?!
