A key form one of my ol lads 04 hi-ace seems to have got legs and ran. Anyways we rang the local Toyota (lynchs) dealer and they reckon its going to cost us roughly €800 to get a new one, is this the sort of price you'd be expecting to pay?! It was bog standard key, no central locking or anythign, Seems pretty dear!

AFAIK they are not an intergrated system, so you will only have to replace the immobiliser ecu, and one key.

If its an intergrated system you will have to replace the engine ecu as the immobiliser system is intergrated.

You also have the option to to replace all of your door locks, ign. cylinder.
you would do this if you suspected the keys were stolen or could be identified if found.

800 quid aint to bad as the parts would be somewhere around € 550.

There are people who claim to be able to do this without replacing parts but at best the one i have seen work only sometimes
