Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade our car, it's only worth around 1k and we have around 6/7k to buy something else. Am I right in thinking we're better trying to sell ours privately and approach dealers as cash buyers? Are we still better off selling it privately even if we only get the same for it as we'd get trade in from a garage?
We advertised it yesterday and have someone interested in coming to have a look. First time I've had to sell a car so what do I need to know? Obviously I know not to take a cheque but that's about the limit of my knowledge....any advice appreciated!
