    Hey Guys,

Well firstly what do I mean when I say a green job: for me
I am looking for something along the lines of getting a job
in the area of sustainability, permaculture, arboriculturism,
    and campaigns/activism.

Basically, a job that isn't all about just money and business
and screwing either a) the planet b) myself c) other people
over to make a steady living in this world.

I don't have much experience in this area but to start things,
I am first going to volunteer to work for people on their
land, farms, centers, plots ..this and that. Learn about them,
why they do it, what they do, and how they do it.

After that hopefully I can get an internship or something
but in what and ..where should I turn to for that?

Also want to be in Dublin city or county ideally. My partner is living there
and she gets lonely at night :$ hehe.

Well I guess that is basically it. Green job in the Green isle capital
that saves my mind and the planet is that all too much to ask?? hehe

Anyone out there looking or found what I am looking for? :)

What is it with people, make money and still be green? how about you put the planet before your selfish needs.

What, we are destroying the world and this fella wants to make a buck?

We need to move on and reduce our standard of living. WE ARE A PLAGUE ON THE EARTH.

Yeah but at least he is trying to be green in some way. You have to
give credit where credit is due. The move to sustainable living is going
to require a massive change. This cannot happen over night.

I think its great to see people having an interest in green energy and
    it should be encouraged.

He even said it isn't all about money......

He wants to live in Dublin and to do this you need money to buy food,
clothes etc...you know, the basics to live and such?

We are a bit like a plague (Virus is more accurate - "The Matrix") but whether
you like it or not, we are here and and population is going to keep increasing.

You should consider going to University. The environment sector can be pretty hard to get a foothold in without any qualifications. I would look at doing an Environmental Science or Agricultural Science course at either TCD, UCD or DIT.

    If an academic course isn't for you then look into courses at colleges like this one;

Volunteering is also very useful for getting a foothold in various organisations. Here are some websites to take a look at.

    http://www.antaisce.org/
    http://www.groundwork.ie/index.htm
    http://www.pathsavers.org/

I can't stress enough the importance of having some kind of qualification that suits the job youre looking for, so if you can afford it and have the time you should definately go for one.

    Hope this helps.

    Best of luck.
