Nowhere in Ireland sells real A&F!

London is your closest shop tbh.

was in A&F here in San Fran yesterday and still can't figure out why people have such a raging hard-on for the stuff. i thought after 5 years of J1'ers coming back plastered in this stuff would turn people off? no?

Dont think the j1 is very popular this year so hopfully we'll see less of it!

Lol. I must admit I do like some of their stuff tho. It's well made, comfortable clothing at reasonably good prices.

but they are actually quite expensive compared to other shops here in america.

AE, banana republic, forever21 are on par if not better quality clothing and sell for cheaper.

don't really want to turn this into A&F bashing thread as the OP didn't ask about our opinions on A&F

No, it's not sold in Ireland. You'll have to buy online or go to London/USA.

i think their hoodies are the comfiest i've had.. had no interest in it till i went over to america went into the shop and picked up one of the hoodies it was so soft and they're really warm.. AE i like aswell but i still think the A&F hoodies are much more comfortable., but i prefer AE for all other clothes only like the A7F hoodies really. banana republic don't no.. forever21 wouldn't say they are near the quality of A&F i find a lot of their clothes shrink after you wash them and they just become kind of droopy(i couldn't think of a word) and worn very fast.. i've had an A&F hoody now for 2 1/2 years and its still perfect the quality in them is really good..

On topic: While I don't know specifically of any retailers that do them on the east, a lot of young mens stores will carry some items albeit at vastly inflated prices. What I'd reccommend is maybe getting a few friends together and making the order together as you can divide the shipping cost amongst you.

Off topic: Abercrombie died for me when I saw Meath and Roscommon GAA tops swanning around the store in Chicago today. I agree their hoodies are good quality and exceptionally comfy but their teen brand Hollister do pretty much the exact same hoodies for a lot cheaper. Then again their adult brand Ruehl do the same hoodies for prices higher than Abercrombie again. Same clothes, slightly different styles all targetted at 3 very different markets.

My experiences of American stores so far; American Eagle do fantastic jeans however their other stuff is so-so. Aeropostale is like the discount AE/Abercrombie with the bonus that they don't ship to Ireland or anywhere else so you do get a certain exclusivity if thats what you're after. Banana Republic is vastly overpriced, like an expensive Next. Don't get me started on GAP (I also deplore the way they call it "the" GAP). Forever 21 is trendy enough again, typical fare that I'd liken to River Island. Macy's shows you just how much we're getting ripped off in Ireland for marquee brands, Tommy Hilfiger polo's can be picked up at $30 each - 70 odd euro back home usually. My biggest suprise here is H&M, a way better selection than anything we have back home and incredible prices. I like very much.

Its the ultimate 'can I go to college now Ma?' brand.

Amazed its still going over here to be honest. Seems to be massive among the bogballers in my own Uni. (Us League of Ireland men are clearly the kings of fashion and can say that )

Slightly off topic I know but I totally disagree about H&M. When in San Fran, and then Las Vegas, I found that H&M's selection was practically the same as in Ireland and at pretty much the exact same price. Indeed, once you got to the till and had your 8-10% sales tax added on (remember guys it's 21.5% here and just already included in the price) it actually worked out as being slightly more expensive. I thought the same when I was in Madrid (although the collection seemed slightly better, although then again the store was simply bigger).
Tommy Hillfiger and Ralph Lauren etc. are cheaper in America because they're American brands. It does make sense. If you go into Topshop or even Zara over in America it's usually way more expensive than Ireland, especially when you add on your sales tax, because they're European brands. For example, I saw a pair of trousers in Zara in San Fran for $79.99 (+8.5% sales tax = $86.79) that were selling for €49 in Ireland.
I realise this is all off topic but I get sick and tired sometimes listening to Irish people constantly moan how EVERYTHING is cheaper in the US or wherever and how we're being CONSTANTLY ripped off at absolutely EVERY opportunity in EVERY shop!

If you want to discuss H&M then start a thread. If you want to talk about how the prices are practically the same, might I suggest Consumer Issues, Rip Off Ireland or Ranting and Raving. Thank you. :)

I thought it was known now that Abercrombie cant be bought here. Also, i tried ordering a batch of Hollister there the other day and it wouldnt ship here, because of some chinese import thing ? , so i shipped it to my aunt who lives there and she's sending it on to me.. Effort!
If you are buying online, best thing to do is order LOADS , as its just easier that way.. People should really email them pleading to open a store in dublin, people are buyin fakes because they cant buy the real thing!
