I'd like to get any feedback about wellmount health centre on Finglas:)
Has anyone had check - ups with a midwife during pregnancy in WHC???
Just wondering how it really works ;-)

    Hiya,
I live in Finglas and attend Wellmount Health Centre with my daughter for her PHN. I didn't attend for the midwives, so I can't comment on that part!

PHN I visit is lovely though. We didn't see eye to eye at first because she made presumptions about my living arrangements. But when it comes to the care of my daughter she is eagle eyed and even noticed a turn in my daughters eye before I did and made the appointment for her to see the eye specialist.

I'm sure it's just like attending the midwives clinic at the hospital though, they palpate your stomach, listen for the heartbeat on the doppler, take urine and blood pressure, ask you how you're feeling and doing and that's it really!!

    Hi adrieanne,

I'm attending Wellmount clinic! Was there yesterday with the midwife. I've met 2 midwives on my last 2 visits and they were both lovely, made me feel really special despite seeing pg woman every minute of the day! They just asked how I was feeling, took bp, did urine sample and felt tummy. Get there early for your app as it can be busy.

    Good luck!

Heya I'm From Finglas Myself and I'm 20 weeks pregnant on my 2nd.. I went to the Wellmount clinic on my first lil girl with the domino service from the rotunda, just call the main reception in the Rotunda and ask for the Domino Midwives and you'll go from there.. they are really wonderful midwives and they make you feel very welcome from start to the time you give birth.. they call you after your scans to make sure everything went ok... there are a couple different midwives but they all have your best interests at heart.. They can be contacted at any time day or night with any questions you might have and if you cant get through you leave a message on voicemail and they call you straight back :).. I would highly recommend them to anyone that finds they are pregnant for the first or all there pregnancies... They come to your home and you go to them every couple months then every 2 to 3 weeks coming to the end of your pregnancy.. They cut out the hospital totally unless (god forbid) there is any complications.. They sort out your scans for you also and they give you detailed checkups in the comfort of your own home.... hope this helps if you've any other questions dont hesitate to ask. Paula

I had my check up in WHC with the midwife a few days ago.
She was very nice and made me feel really special.
I'm happy I decided to go for Domino Care.
I'm 30 weeks now and can't wait to cuddle my little one.;)
