I have just finished serving a 2yr ban for drink driving. Does anyone know how I get my license back now. I rang Mill Street Garda Station and they said I need to talk to my solicitor, but surely I can just apply for it somewhere ?

    Did you ring your solicitor?

No he only works a couple of hours a week (recession and all that) so he is impossible to get a hold off. Was hoping to solve this without needing to ring him. Seen as I have served the ban I dont need to go to court

Your solicitor should have told you that you could have applied to get your licence restored 8 months ago after serving two thirds of your ban!

Yes JHMEG its true. Before 2006 you could apply to get it back after half of the disqualification period but since 2006 you had to do two thirds.

Basically your saying your son was asked to produce his license at a Guarda station and he failed to do this so he got a court summons which he failed to appear so he was given an a 2 year ban, am I right?
