    Hi,
I cycle around 10 miles each day on my MTB for exercise,I was wondering does anyone here have any good Ideas of where to get some sort of anti sweat shorts to wear under my bottoms to stop sweat seeping through?

Ditch the bottoms and wear cycling shorts.

edit: I have some Goretex shorts which would do want you want, but the effect would just be sweat dripping down your legs - not nice.

    Thanks for your reply,
But I would rather wear full lenght bottoms and shorts underneath, can you get a small pair ,say the size of boxer shorts that would stop the sweat getting through,
I dont think shorts alone would suit my on a MTB
    :o

    anti sweat? hmmm
A tin of anti-perspirant and cycling slower is about all that will stop you sweating on the bike

If you absolutely must keep your legs covered (e.g. you're a woman cycling around a Taliban-held village in rural Afghanistan) just get black lycra leggings of some description.

The sweat has to get out somehow, the shorter the route the better.

You can get really strong ones. Driclor or perspirex in chemists, it is just the same as in other ones but much higher % Aluminium chloride.

One application can last a week or more, and no residue to ruin t-shirt armpits, great on feet & hands too. Just follow the instructions VERY carefully or you can be literally burnt/stung to bits.

So you want all the sweat to remain in and around your areas? You'd have to buy rubber pants or a nappy of some sort.

I would advise getting 3 quarter length baggy MTB shorts (black) with lycra shorts or full lengths underneath.

Go into somewhere like lifestyle sports and buy a pair of compression shorts.

e.g. under armour shorts. (or kiwi, nike whatever brand tickles your fancy)

Have used under armour stuff and it does the job and holds up to wear and tear pretty good. (they also doe base layer tops which are good aswell)

They won't stop the sweat but they will wick the sweat away from yuor skin and will be a lot more comfy to wear when sweating like a pig that traditional cotton boxers.

Surely using anti-perspirants during exercise is a bad idea, no? You could overheat if you are attempting to counter your body's natural cooling response. The normal way technical clothing deals with sweat is to wick it outwards, you most certainly would not want anything that would keep it all in. Wear cycle-specific shorts whether lycra or baggies if you can't bring yourself there, it also sounds like you are also wearing too much clothing while you exercise which would be very uncomfortable and contribute to potential overheating. You might sweat less if you wore less.

If you sweat you sweat, you can only send it elsewhere. You could wear dark patterned shorts which wouldnt show it, but otherwise bike shorts with a chamois underneath the baggies. You wont have the lycra look and it keeps in the sweat.

    Alternatively...

    god I am so sorry.

You're wearing the wrong clothes its as simple as that.

    Tracksuit is too heavy.

Champion sports in Jervis had a sale on 3/4 length adidas shorts a few weeks ago. I bought a pair for my commute. They're grand for the cycling in, worn over padded shorts.
