Choosing a Wall Mount...

So I've just moved into a new house and I'm looking to mount my 42" Samsung on the wall in the living room.

The idea is that I'd like to have it relatively 'hidden' / non-intrusive but also with the ability to articulate it out to a fairly central, watchable location i.e. flat against the wall when not in use, folded out and tilted somewhat when in use (see screenshot, it makes more sense!).

My main problem as it stands is that I can't find any wall mounts that will hinge out more than about 16" inches or so. As you can see from the screenshot, I'd like to have the TV come out almost it's own width again from the wall. That is an appalling sentence, but I hope you get the idea.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've seen some of the Ergotron LX models that have extended arms, but they seem be limited to <= 32" model LCDs.

I'm also very open to any other recommendations for TV locations in the room. One thing I probably won't be able to do is move the chair by the fireplace or the couch, so if you've any ideas, please keep that in mind. Also, I'm not too keen on putting the TV on a unit in the bay window, since it will block out the view (although it would stop Burt Reynolds from looking in my window, which is an obvious plus).

Above the fireplace is *kind of* an option, but again it's a little intrusive on the eye, I find. Also, the couch is where we'll be watching from most of the time, so it's not the best choice. I'd like to be able to put in 5.1 as well with decent speaker placement, which the screenshot's design would allow for.

I haven't quite figured out where I'll be putting the STB / HTPC, etc. in terms of access to the TV (probably below it and chase the wall for the HDMI cables, etc.), but the main idea here is to try and avoid a large 'Entertainment Centre' approach, since our room layout just doesn't really suit it.

Btw, all this stems from not wanting the TV in a corner a la the traditional approach, which bothers me greatly :D

I'm open to all suggestions on this, by the way. For example, I saw some LCD "Floor Stands" (lost the URL) recently, which are no way near as imposing as a large entertainment center and may do just the trick.

Even such extravagance as a 1080p projector and motorised screen would be considered! :)
