How many Amps is my Actuator?

    Hi Folks,

A quick question on Actuators. I am looking to drive an actuator but unfortunately I don't know how many amps it is, and I can't get access to the actuator. Is there another way of finding out how many amps are required? Also I have no power on site at the moment.

I'm serviously pussled :confused::confused: so any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

P.s. I do have access to the power lead for the actuator.

Have you any access at all to it? e.g. to read a rating plate etc. How accurate do you have to be, (why do you have to know). If there is a labelled fuse in the power lead it will give you at least some idea of the max.

    Hi Ruprect,

All the old control gear has been scrapped so that's a dead end.
The Actuators are in a silo in the middle of a manufacturing site and are about 40+m off the floor. access might (might!) be possible with a 100Ton crane, but if there was any other way it would be preferred. The actuators are one of a kind, created for this application, but the orginal manufacture has gone bust...

We believe the actuators are in good working order, for what it's worth.

I always get the good jobs :D
