TVPlus. Its associated with Sky really but if you set your region as Ireland you can get the tv guide for the irish channels as well. Also if you have Sky+ you can set shows to record from your iPhone.

Greatest app ever!!!!! (note: may not be the greatest app ever)

    +1

Excellent app. especially the description of each show, tells you what series, episode number and if its a repeat etc
can be customised to list only the channels you have

I use TVPlus, but I use it more for recording than as a guide. Great app though.

Got this today and would realy like to use it to set the record, can I do it if the land line is not attached to the sky+ box? i.e. How does the signal travel, through the dish or phone line?

    Thanks,

    Bb

Works for me and I don't have a landline! Must go through the dish. Remember that you need to set it to record an hour before the programme starts (well it says an hour but sometimes you can get away with less).

Blimey - Had a look at the TV Guide App after seeing it on this thread. It's brilliant. No more looking up Aertel for what's on TV for me. Great little app.

Thanks Atgate, I went through a painful process to activate the sky+ box but eventually have an account set up however every time I press record on the iphone it either comes back with "Recording of ******** failed. Please try again later" or else nothing. It has not yet connected with the box to activate and not too sure why. I definately have activated the remote user on the sky box, using my mobile # but for some reason its still not working, any pointers appreciated.

Glad to hear the box does not need to be connected to the land line to work though, thanks again,

    Bb

I remember having some issues when I set the account up but I seem to have repressed the memory. Sorry

I have the tvplus set up and its working great.

You have to have a MySky account set up which is associated with your digital box. So you need your viewing card number when setting that up. www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/mysky

You have to activate Remote Record on your Sky box. This is done through the sky active site on the sky box.

You have to sign into the TVPlus application using your Mysky account information.

I think thats all thats required to get it working.

The request to record is then sent to the sky server and sent through the dish signal to your sky box which then records. Also I think there is an Official BSkyB app that does the same but I found it very slow to navigate.

No, it's free. It's called TVGuide and appears on the app store listed as tvguide.co.uk

    hey all

first post, and yeah just to add, i downloaded the Sky + app for the iPhone, and at first it has the uk listings but once you register with sky.com and then you select your region, once you then log in on the phone, your then given ROI listings, rte and the likes, and i then set it up on the sky box and i can now set it to record for me on the fly, really handy and as posted, you need to give it a half hours notice
