Sometimes I just LOVE reading comments on IMDB. One of my favourites about The Snapper:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108170/board/thread/30053505?d=40776994&p=1#40776994
I just saw this yesterday on cable again for the second time, years later than my first, and now after getting to know some people from Letterkenny, Ireland. Well, the first time I saw it I never knew what Desssie meant when he said to his wife while she was crocheting, "I guess a ride's out of the question, eh?" For the longest time I thought he wanted a ride to the pub in town!! Just couldn't figure out why he offered to brush his teeth first!! Loved this movie.
    :pac:

Also, this whole "King Of Kong" argument that went on in the "Billy Mitchell is a BIG deuche bag" thread.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0923752/board/thread/140930964?p=2
He was being defended by one of the nerd followers in the film. His comments have been deleted but the replys with many of his comments cut-and-pasted are still there. My favourite one though which is not there anymore was something like :"You don't know what you are talking about plus....... I think you are a girl." It was like an online continuation of the movie :)

It's a unique hive of rabid fanboyism, unexplained petty hatreds and jaw dropping strangeness. Always hilarious :D

I absolutely love IMDB user. They help you realise than humanity really is doomed.

    Epic man, well done.

My personal fav was without a doubt the avp2 thread in which alien and preditor fanboys actually argued who would win in real life and who one side was getting treated better then the other.

I love how every single movie that's ever been made is racist.

(Logic would demand that an inanimate object is incapable of racism but logic is often left at the door on the IMDB.)

I do believe that you each post on imdb costs you an IQ point each and every time. How else can you explain the people who dare 100% positive that Nick Love is making a bio pic of Jade Goody or the people discussing the new Chris Carter film yet no one can agree exactly what the film is. One crew members says that no one involved had any idea what it's about while another crew member says it's a coming of age tale yet another insists that it's a gory slasher film.

    LOL brilliant!

"I found this rubbish film in the horror section which made me think it would be a horror. If I owned a video store I'd put it in the BORING section."

"this one is better because it has a big jolly fat man in it for you to laugh at. He is so funny! When you watch him try to move around you will laugh your crack off."

In reference to the Godather: "It doesn't even have any plots to it. Everybody just speaks in a strange language like I'm supposed to understand that. This one guy in the movie is the worst heaving windbag I've ever seen in my life. He even kills himself with oranges which is so stupid because oranges aren't even poisonous."

Re 300: "One thing that is rubbish in this film is that nobody says why the racists want to fight the robots. I think all the people who made this movie forgot to put that bit in, but it's okay because I made up my own story in my head to explain it and you can do that too. "

This is what bugs me the most!

    A film is racist if
    a) there are no ethnic minority characters in it
    b) there are ethnic minority side characters in it (that means they are 'token' asians/blacks etc.)
    c) there are ethnic minority actors representing ethnic stereotypes
    d) there are ethnic minority characters that are 'too white' (i.e. not stereotypical enough?)

So literally every movie is racist!

    Re: The Wizard of Oz:

"...it's telling a story about four people, and three of them aren't even real. One is a bear, one is a scarecrow and one is a robot..."

    Re: Dances With Wolves:

"...This movie is rubbish. It is so rubbish that not even the likes of James Earl Jones wanted any part of it. Other notable actors of the time that are not involved with this film because it was rubbish are Tom Cruise and Judge Reinhold.

This film is all about a man who travels on his horse all the way out to the western area of the United States of America (the USA). When he gets there he makes a little hut for himself and becomes friends with the locals! LOL. The rest of the film is just as boring as that, and there are too many campfires in this movie that are created by rubbing sticks together because this film is set in a time before anyone had even invented lighters! If you watch this film you will feel very miserable, like having too many peas with your steak. I have watched this film and I have come to the conclusion that it is rubbish. It doesn't even have any scenes where anyone dances with wolves, which is probably a good thing because everybody knows that wolves can't even stand up without falling over, let alone dance..."

Completely deserves legendary status, what a guy!

    My favourites are the "ROCKS":

M - It is very exciting and even though some parts look rubbish and it is spoken in FOREIGN you will ignore that and enjoy it.

To Kill A Mockingbird - Oh boy this movie is so awesome you will find yourself flying among the Angels when you watch it, or roughly about as high as they fly. This movie is so great it's like finding out your brother is famous

Planes, Trains & Automobiles - This movie is so funny it might even pop you! LOL. But I mean it in a serious way

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock - This film is a very exciting film. It is so good that it makes me want to see it all over again, but I can't ... Where is Spock? Where could he be? Sometimes they think they have found him but it turns out to be somebody else, which is very exciting.

The Matrix - This movie is so cool you will think you have just come back from a refreshing vacation in some place that you might like to go to (wherever that may be).

Goodfellas - Listen you, this film will make you so happy you'll want to adopt some kind of pet.

300 - This movie is so great I can't believe my ears.

    :)

The number of times I've seen someone try to explain the difference between a racist film and a film that has a racist character in it to some PC nutjob ...
