Hi all attend harolds x races for the first time last week. Really enjoyed it and im going back again this week, my question is on trackside there is no.s 1-6 with constantly changing odds, asked my gf's father if these are accurate odds, he said no dont mind them, but it seemed to be constantly changing didnt wanna look like a prat and ask at the tote window but are they the current odds or wtf are they???

Basically how the tote works is all the money for that race is pooled and as bets are made the computer changes the odds according to the dogs people are betting on. They odds keep changing until the off of the race and that is the payout you get regardless of what the odds were when you placed your bet.

So say there were 6 dogs racing and nobody had bet on dog number 2.Then all of a sudden everybo0dy bets on him.His odds will drop significantly then even if you had bet on him before the odds fell your payout will be as low as someone who placed the bet 20 seconds before the race went off

no the bookies wait for 30 seconds before the off
then go 2/1 four of the dogs
6/4 the other two
but wipe the price if someone has a score on !!!!

6/4 the first 2 in the betting? More like no price available on a leading layers board at the Cross in unraced pup races(can fully understand why to an extent though)
