I'd put in two nights in Venice as there is a lot to see and one night doesn't really do it justice. If you're limited to that number of nights, sacrifice one of the nights in Munich.

That's not really eastern Europe for any of the trip, more central. But maybe that's just me!

Are you planning to travel by train? If so, it may be cheaper andmore efficient to do Munich after Berlin, then on to Prague.

You're going to most of the cities I went to while Interrailing this year except I went:

    Amsterdam - 3 - Stayokay, Stadsdoelen

Berlin - 3 - Heart of Gold Hostel, nice, but apparently Circus is the place to go.

Prague - 3 - Travellers Inn, would reccomend, very central.

Krakow - 2 - Giraffe Hostel, decent enough

Night Train - 1 - An experience anyway!

Vienna - 1 - Wombats, defo the place to go.

    Munich - 4 - Wombats again, excellent!

Zurich - 1 - City Backpacker, got kitchens and is central.

Venice - 1 - YHA Ostello Venice, wasnt great.

Rome - 2 - Navigator, not that central, alright place.

Milan - 2 - OstellOlinda - Out in the sticks! About a 30 min journey in if you time trains right. Too far really, but nice quiet place.

I'd go with maybe 2 in Amsterdam as there's a lot to do.

3 in Berlin is grand, again a lot to do(I was sick one night there, and we could have explored a lot more).

3 in prague would be good, a good bit to see and its cheap! Our first evening we didnt do much though because of the long train ride.

Krakow was a pretty long train ride, and although it was lovely, the journey time probably isn't worth it for a 2 week trip.

I got a night train into Vienna and arrived at 6am, so had about 30 hours there till I left. Nice place, but we didnt find a whole lot to do. Could just have been us though.

Munich, was one of my favourite cities. Plenty to do particularly if you want to se the BMW Museum and Factory(Pre-Booking Online is very important, we were lucky to get a last min place.) Hostels extremely busy, had to move twice while there!

I'd go with 2 nights in Venice if you can, long enough train from Munich I think.(7-8 hours) Don't say in YHA Ostello Venice - crap beds, huge dorms, no atmosphere what so ever and a vaperetto is required to got to the main island.

2 Nights in Rome sounds good, try to do as much as you can and you'll see a hugh amount in 2 days.

I'm assuming you staying in hostels and taking trains about the place, here are a few good sites.

    www.bahn.de - German/European Trains
    www.oebb.at - Austrain/European Trains

Go with German train where you can, afaik you dont need to pay a supplement on them at all with an Interrail Pass.(Possibly on ICE trains)

No supplement neccessay on Austrain RailJet Trains(fast ones)

€10 supplement for any journey I took on Eurostar Italia Trains, worth it though as the other trains are slow and require changes.

€15 for a couchette on the night train, wasnt a great sleep!

Mike is right about going to Munich after Berlin to save on train times

www.hostelworld.com - only 10% Credit Card deposit on hostels.

Try to book early if you intend to stick to you plan as it saves a lot of wandering and booking place you dont really want. From what I experienced, Wombats Hostels(not the cheapest) are the best places to stay. Couldn't ask for more!

Lonely Planet's Europe on a Shoestring is well worth €20 if you want it.

    Have a good trip!
